Argos Defeat North Idaho College in Dual behind Schlosser and Voigtlander

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – After two-day long events the past two weekends, things were made a little more simple for Argo wrestling with a single dual against North Idaho College. The (10) Argos defeated the Cardinals 26-20 with strong performances from (3) Luke Schlosser and Sam Voigtlander.

As has been the case for most of the season, senior Luke Schlosser started things off well for UGF at 125. Schlosser earned a technical fall victory with a score of 20-3 (5:00) to get the Argos an early 5-0 lead.

That lead grew to 8-0 with a 6-3 decision victory at 133 from senior Jared Berlinger. After a few UGF losses and also a wins by forfeit for the Argos, junior Sam Voigtlander put his team up for good with a win by Fall (2:48) in the 197 weight class.

Head coach Caleb Schaeffer took the opportunity to get a few wrestlers who aren't normally featured in duals some valuable experience, including sophomore Travis Vermulm at 141 and junior Joe Else at 157.

The Argos will wrestle another single dual for their next contest, traveling to Dickinson State University on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. The next day, Jan. 23 they will participate in the Tyler Plummer Classic, hosted by Dickinson State.
