Whitman Earns Big Win in Argo Wrestling's Last Dual

HAVRE, Mont. – UGF's Justin Whitman finished the 2015-16 regular season with a big win at 141 while (13) Argo wrestling rested a couple of its top performers in a 37-6 loss to (3) MSU-Northern.

Whitman, a junior who recently fell out of the individual rankings after being ranked for much of the season, defeated (8) Matt Weber in a 5-2 decision to set him up well for the upcoming Western Regionals.

"That was a big win for Justin. He wrestled a smart match and put himself in a good spot moving forward," head coach Caleb Schaeffer said.

Schaeffer chose to rest two of his top wrestlers, (4) Luke Schlosser and junior Kyle Leir, leading to forfeit losses at 125 and 149. Schaeffer said he wanted to make sure the two already experienced wresters were healthy heading into the post-season.

The Argo's other match win came from (5) Taylor Vaughn who earned a 10-2 major decision at 184.

The dual puts an end to the Argo's regular season, with their next contest being the NAIA Western Regionals in Prescott, Ariz., on Feb. 19
