GREAT FALLS, Mont. – No. 4 Argo Wrestling earned their first win as they dominated Eastern Oregon University, 32-10, on Saturday evening at the McLaughlin Center.
Providence had four bonus-point wins, including pins from No. 3
Casey Dobson and No. 6
Shonn Roberts to easily handle the Mountaineers.
No. 14
Michael Lefuel fell in a 9-5 decision to Mhar Caballa in the first match of the dual.
Eli Walston captured the Argos first victory of the day as he captured a 13-12 decision over Eastern Oregon's Ryan Ninman to equalize the match, 3-3. At 141,
TJ Baun captured the Argos second decision of the day in a 6-3 win over the Mountaineers' Blake McNall.
Roberts earned the Argos first pin on the day as he stuck Jared Brant at 2:46. Dobson followed Roberts dominant performance at 157 with a fall of his own against John Leal at 2:53 to give the Argos a 18-3 lead.
Josh Beckler fell to Eastern Oregon's Keegan Mulhill by a 12-4 major decision. At 184, the Argos'
Alex Quick fell to Marco Retano in a 7-4 decision to bring the Mountaineers within 10, 20-10.
The Mountaineers had to forfeit the 197 and 285 matches to close out the dual, giving the Argos the 32-10 victory.
Argo women's wrestling picked up three wins on Saturday as well.
Angelica Sletten defeated Amber Pair,
Dajan Treder beat Macy Higa, and
Jenna Awana earned a victory over Krystal Fabricante.
The men return to action on November 2 as they host North Idaho College, while the women will head to the Beaver State to compete against Pacific University on November 11.
