Argo Women's Hockey Inks Rustler and Great Falls Americans Athlete Aaliyah James

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo women's hockey continues to bolster its ranks with the most recent addition being center/forward Aaliyah James, announced by head coach Ryne Hueth.

James, a native of Denver, Colorado, began her hockey career in Anchorage, Alaska at the age of eight. During her peewee and squirt years, James moved south to the Space City, Houston, Texas, where she was named to the Select Team for three consecutive seasons.

Following her stint in Houston, James competed on a AA travel team in the Southern California Hockey League out of Simi Valley, California. While on the team, she competed with teams all across California, in addition to playing in tournaments in Chandler, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada.

James would then move to Great Falls, Montana and attend C.M. Russell High School. During her freshman year as a Rustler, James also competed with the Great Falls Americans high school team, playing the past three seasons with the team. Over the past season, James joined the Montana Big Sky Wildcats 19U team and competes simultaneously with them and the Americans. Even though James has a full schedule, she has continued to excel in the classroom. Due to her advancement in her studies and degree plan, she was able to forgo her junior year and will graduate in spring 2019.

"I am very excited to have a C.M. Russell and Great Falls athlete join the team," expressed Coach Hueth. " James has a great attitude and will be a valuable asset to our program as she brings her skills to a collegiate setting."
