MARSHALL, Mo. – Over 350 women wrestlers competed at the Missouri Valley open this past weekend. Thirty plus college teams battled it out and the University of Providence Women's Wrestlers finished 7thoverall, tied with Oklahoma City University.
The Argos were led by Iverly Navarro, (101) and Yurie Yoneoka, (109) finishing second in their respective weight classes. Tatum Sparks also did well this weekend placing 5th in her cla
"As a team, we performed well at this tournament. I liked our overall performance. Ivy and Yurei had some tough opponents and battled to be in the championship round, " commented Head Coach Carlene Sluberski.
The Argos Women's wrestling team will have their first home dual this Friday night against Warner Pacific University (Ore.) starting at 7 PM. The dual will be held at Great Falls Central School.
