Anderson Named 1st Team All-Region

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – University of Providence defender Levi Anderson was named to the 2019-20 ACHA D2 First Team All-West Region.

Anderson is the first player in program history to be named to an All-Region team. He was one of two defenders that qualified for the team; Will Fobair of Weber State was the other defensemen to qualify.

"He's more than deserving," head coach Jeff Heimel said. "I would have been surprised if he didn't get it. He obviously came in and did very well."

In 29 games this season, the freshman from Pincher Creek, Alberta recorded the second-most goals on the team with 16. He also recorded 17 assists on the season. Even more impressive was his ability to step up in big moments.

"He's right up there at the top of our team in scoring as a defensemen so obviously he's doing great things," Heimel said. "He's done well from a production standpoint but he's also shown up in big games. That's his MO so it's cool."

Lance Knudsen (G, University of Mary), Daniel Dvorak (F, Metro State), Eric Pinsky (F, Boise State) and Alex Flicek (F, University of Mary) also made the team.

The Argos are one of 16 teams competing in the National Tournament on March 20 at 12:30 p.m. against Trine.
