CALGARY, Canada -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program opened their season in Calgary, AB, CAN on Saturday.  

The Argos took first place at the Dino Open scoring 82 points as a team. The University of Calgary came in second place scoring 45 points. UP had three wrestlers take first place in freshman Ani Arias, sophomore Katelyn Lewis, and senior Sadie Antoque. The Argos also had three wresters take second place in sophomore Lily Grismer, redshirt freshman Kaianne Sabagala, and junior Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp.

 Arias went 3-0, defeating her opponents by a combined score of 33-1. Katelyn Lewis also went 3-0 while defeating teammates freshman Alanna Haney and senior Joji Miner-Ho. Antoque did not concede a point on her way to going 3-0 outscoring her opponents 28-0.

Grismer went 3-1 defeating teammates freshman Omi Kulukulualani-Sales and sophomore Nyla O'Brien but fell in the championship match 11-1. Sabagala got a bye in the first round and defeated teammate redshirt freshman Kailey Reese in the semifinals before falling in the championship match. Estrella-Beauchamp won her first three matches including defeating 4^th place freshman Alyssa Randles in the semifinals before losing the championship match 11-4.

The Argos will be back in action Nov. 5 when they head to Atherton, Calif. For the Menlo Open.
