GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's wrestling team heads to LaGrande, Ore. to open their season with a pair of duals on Saturday and the Mountaineer Open on Sunday.
The Argos were ranked as the #6 team in the preseason NAIA poll after placing eighth at the NAIA National Championships last season where
KC Buday and returner junior
Abel Nava Jr. placed third individually to earn All-American status.
The 2024-2025 University of Providence team has a few other impactful returners including juniors
Bridger Hall and
Sawyer Hobbs who earned All-American status in the 2022-2023 season. UP also has seniors
Liam Swanson,
Caleb Werner, juniors
Aden Graves,
Ethan DeRoche, and sophomores
Jalen Vladic and
Pig Hobbs who have all previously qualified for the NAIA National Championships.
Clackamas CC
Clackamas finished last season as the #2 team in the Division One NJCAA Rankings and finished fourth at the National Championships. The Cougars will dual Arizona Christian prior to the Argos at 11:00 a.m. (MST).
Eastern Oregon
The Mountaineers were receiving votes in the preseason NAIA Top 20 poll after finishing 12
th at the NAIA National Championships last season. Eastern Oregon returns one All-American and two other National Qualifiers for the 24-25 season with NAIA Champion at 125 Hunter Sparks graduating.
