LAGRANDE, Ore. – The University of Providence men's wrestling program went 2-0 at the Eastern Oregon Duals defeating RV Eastern Oregon 22-15 and beating Clackamas Community College 22-16 Saturday afternoon.

In the opening dual versus the Mountaineers, the Argos saw #22 junior Kobi Johnson pick up his first win as an Argo defeating Jack Eylar by TF, and UP would win the next two matches as well with #24 sophomore Na'u McBrayer and junior Dante Reviglio picking up wins via decision to put UP ahead 11-0.

Following a loss from UP at 149, the Argos won the next three matches with #10 Jalen Vladic defeating Trace Evans by TF and #12 junior Bridger Hall and Blaze Sumiye winning by decision to secure the dual for UP 22-15. 

In the second dual of the day versus Clackamas Community College, UP jumped in front 7-0 following a victory by decision from Johnson and a major decision from McBrayer. Johnson's victory via decision was over returning NJCAA National Champion Ane'e Vigil.

UP would lose the next three matches to fall behind by four, but Sumiye picked up his second win of the day defeating Chase Dennis 7-2 to bring the dual within one.

Following a loss at 174, Hobbs defeated Nakoa Fouret 10-5 for his first win of the year. Clackamas would forfeit the 197 match to put UP ahead by two, and DeRoche secured the dual victory for UP with a 9-3 victory over Ethan Birch.

The Argos will be back in action Nov. 6 when they host #19 MSU-Northern. Wrestlers will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont.
