9/28/2024 10:33:00 PM

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program defeated the University of Denver 3-2 Saturday night.

The Pioneers scored the first goal of the game when a pass through the crease found a wide-open attacker whose one-timer found the back of the net.

With six minutes left in the first the Argos would find the equalizer when on the power play junior Colby Friedrich found junior Adam Husli whose wrist shot went over the goalies blocker to make it 1-1.

Shortly into the second period the Argos took the lead when freshman Kage Yellowfly took it himself to score a shorthanded goal for UP.

The Argos would extend their lead to two after Yellowfly found Bolter to put UP ahead 3-1, and despite a late goal from the Pioneers, UP defeated the University of Denver 3-2.

The Argos will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Ogden, Utah. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. versus Weber State.
