GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program fell to the University of Utah 3-1 Saturday night.
The Utes (4-3) scored the first goal of the contest seven minutes into the game off a wrist shot that went over the Argos (3-3) goaltender's glove.
Both sides went back-and-forth for the rest of the period with no real scoring chance as the Argos went into the break trailing 1-0.
Neither side would find the back of the net until seven minutes into the second period when sophomore
Kaleb West grabbed the loose puck in the slot and his wrist shot beat the Utes goaltender to tie the game at one.
Each side would have a few chances the rest of the game, but neither team could find the go-ahead goal until with a minute and a half remaining the Utes one-timer found the back of the net to put the University of Utah ahead 2-1.
The Utes would add another goal with 32 seconds remaining, and despite late pressure from the Argos, UP fell to the University of Utah 3-1.
The Argos will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 17 when they host Montana State University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â
