BUTTE, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program defeated Montana Tech 6-1 Saturday night.
The Argos (8-6-1) scored the first goal of the contest when junior
Zach Fulton's wrist shot from the blue line went off the goaltender and senior
Adam Husli grabbed the rebound and found the back of the net to put UP ahead 1-0.
The Argos continued their momentum a few minutes later when senior
Fabian Vik corralled the loose puck in front of the net and pushed it past the goaltender to extend the lead to two.
UP did not go away with Husli adding his second goal of the period and Fulton scored his first goal of the season midway through the first period to extend the lead to four.
The Orediggers (8-8) would add a goal at the end of the first period as UP went into the break leading 4-1.
Following no goals in the second period, senior
Nicholas Demchuk put the Argos ahead 5-1 to begin the third and Husli achieved the hat trick down the stretch as he reached his 100
th career point in the Argos 6-1 victory over Montana Tech.
The Argos will be back in action on Thursday, Nov. 20 when they head to Logan, Utah. Puck drop versus #11 Grand Canyon University is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Â Â Â Â Â
