OGDEN, Utah – The University of Providence hockey program defeated #25 Colorado State 9-0 Friday night.
The Argos (10-6-1) scored the first goal of the contest when on the two-on-one break sophomore
William Clark found senior
Stanislav Struthers in the slot and he buried the one-timer to put UP ahead 1-0.
The Argos continued their momentum, scoring a minute later when sophomore
Sam Duehlmeier's wrist shot from the blue line snuck past the goaltender to give UP a 2-0 edge heading into the break.
UP did not go away to begin the second period when one minute in junior
AJ Belanger found senior
Colby Friedrich in the slot and his one-timer found the back of the net to extend the Argo lead to three.
A few minutes later the Argos pushed the lead to four when sophomore
Darnell Glasgo connected with senior
Fabian Vik and his backhand shot from in front of the net went top corner to beat the goaltender.
Glasgo, Husli, Belanger, Friedrich, and sophomore
Daniel Tainton would add goals in the third period as the Argos cruised past #25 Colorado State with a 9-0 victory.
The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22 when they head to Provo, Utah. Puck drop versus #9 Arizona State is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. Â Â Â Â Â
