PROVO, Utah – The University of Providence hockey program defeated #9 Arizona State Saturday night.
The Argos (11-6-1) scored the first goal of the game when junior
Jamal Kalaf sent the puck into the slot and after it bounced off a Sun Devil defender, senior
Adam Husli pushed the puck past the goaltender to put UP ahead 1-0.
The Argos continued their momentum, scoring a few moments later when senior
Fabian Vik had a fast break opportunity and after he lost the puck, he regained it from the defender and his wrist shot found the back of the net to give UP a 2-0 lead.
The Sun Devils would answer over the next two periods adding a pair of goals to tie the game at two, but with two seconds left in the game sophomore
Daniel Tainton sent the puck through the crease and it connected with Husli who scored his second goal of the game to secure the Argos 3-2 victory.
The Argos will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 23 when they head to Logan, Utah. Puck drop versus #16 Boise State is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Â Â Â Â Â
