PARK CITY, Kansas – The University of Providence men's wrestling team had three athletes advance to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Championships on Thursday.
Sophomore
Pig Hobbs, and juniors
Sawyer Hobbs and
Aden Graves all went 2-0 on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals.
Pig pinned both of his opponents on Thursday defeating Noah Smith in 4:09 and #7 Steven Villalobos in 4:24. Hobbs will wrestle #15 Logan Hancey on Friday in the quarterfinals.
Graves picked up a pair of major decisions on day one at the National Championships defeating Ezavian Ortega 14-2 and #13 Vinnie Abbey 12-2. Graves will wrestle #12 Thade Radosa tomorrow in the quarterfinals.
Sawyer also pinned both of his opponents on Thursday defeating Zahquel Davis in 1:21 and #10 Thomas Ketchen-Carter in 2:47. Sawyer will wrestle #2 William Speights in the quarterfinals tomorrow.Â

Jalen Vladic,
Bridger Hall,
Abel Nava Jr., and
Ethan DeRoche all picked up victories in Championship Round 1, but fell in Championship Round 2.
The Argos will be back in action tomorrow, March 7 for day two at the NAIA National Championships. Wrestlers will begin at 10:00 a.m. (MST) at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas.
