Charles was hired as the assistant coach for the Men's Ice Hockey Program at the University of Providence in August of 2025.
Charles was born and raised in Maplewood, Minnesota and played hockey at Tartan Senior High School prior to attending Minnesota State Mankato where he played two seasons in ACHA D2.
Lupelow then served four years active duty in the United States Army prior to attending UP where he played for Argo Hockey for three years and was a Captain for two seasons. Charles coached the U14 Great Falls Americans in 2022 and has lived in Great Falls with his wife who is an active duty Air Force Officer since 2021.
