Christian Vivian is a native of Gig Harbor, WA who began playing hockey at a young age for several minor hockey clubs around the Western Washington area. While attending Gig Harbor High School, Christian made his junior hockey debut for the Puget Sound Tomahawks, then went on to play for the West Sound Warriors, South Muskoka Shield and the Seattle Totems after Graduation.

After three seasons of junior hockey, Christian received a scholarship to play at Dakota College at Bottineau (NJCAA) where he helped spur the rebuild of the Lumberjacks hockey program and received an Associate’s degree in Marketing and Management. Following two seasons in North Dakota, Christian went on to play at Utah State University (ACHA) and helped lead his team to three consecutive National Championship tournaments. He led the nation in shutouts his second season at Utah State and was named an Academic All-American 4 times during his college career. Christian graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minor in Finance.

Following his playing career, Christian went to the University of Oregon accepting the position of Assistant Coach and General Manager for the Ducks Hockey program and spent three successful seasons in Eugene, OR. The Ducks captured three conference titles and grew the program to an ACHA Division 1 team. Christian earned his Master’s degree in Accounting during his time there. After Oregon, Christian took the Assistant Coaching position at his alma mater, Dakota College at Bottineau while also serving as an Adjunct Accounting Instructor.

After a year at Dakota College at Bottineau, Christian was selected as the first Head Coach for the Men’s Hockey program at Lake Region State College. He was able to recruit an entire team and get the Royals off to a great start before accepting the position at University of Providence.Â
