Lucky Lovan

Lucky Lovan was named the new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Providence in January 2023. In his role, Lovan oversees all aspects of training for the 7 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams at the NAIA level.

Lovan came to University of Providence after two seasons at Middle Tennessee State University where he was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. There he primarily worked with football, men’s golf, women’s soccer and assisted with baseball. In his two seasons at MTSU, the Blue Raiders Football Team went 7-6 in 2021, and finished the season with a Bahamas Bowl victory against Toledo 31-24. In 2022, the team improved with an 8-5 record with one of those victories against #25 University of Miami 45-31. It was the school’s first win against a ranked opponent in the AP Top 25 Poll. The season was capped off with a Hawaii Bowl victory against San Diego State University 25-23.

Prior to MTSU, Lovan spent a year at Ottawa University (KS) where he was a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Performance. There he worked with over 30 combined men’s and women’s athletic teams. During that time, he was also a strength and conditioning intern for football at the University of Kansas in 2021. He also gained coaching experience as an intern at Fresno State for football in 2020 and the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2019.

Lovan is a native of Des Moines, Iowa and a graduate of Graceland University. There he ran cross country and track and field for four years. He received his bachelor’s degree in Allied Health in April of 2019. He later went on to receive his master’s degree in Elementary Education in April 2022 from Ottawa University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
