Ty Vinson

Vinson joined the Argo Program in the fall of 2019. The Great Falls native goes way back with Coach Komac, as he wrestled under him at Great Falls High School from 2005-2008. He is a two-time Montana State Champion, winning in 2007 and 2008.

Vinson then wrestled collegiately for Oregon State University. He had a successful collegiate career, qualifying for Nationals as both a junior and a senior. He served as team captain his senior year.

Upon graduating Vinson entered the coaching realm, joining the University of Great Falls as an assistant. In three seasons with the Argos, he coached 11 All-Americans. He helped guide the team to a 2nd place finish at the 2014 NAIA National Tournament in 2014 and a 4th place finish in 2015.

Vinson then served as the head assistant coach for both the men's and women's wrestling programs at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Ore. He was integral in starting the programs from scratch in the 2016-2017 season. He coached four All-Americans on the women's side and two All-Americans on the men's team over two seasons.

Vinson returned to Great Falls in 2018, joining Komac as an assistant coach at Great Falls High School for a season before making the jump to the Argos.
