Danny Burstein rejoined the University of Providence as the men’s head coach in the summer of 2020. In his first season at the helm, Burstein navigated the Argos through a unique season due to the challenges brought on by COVID-19. Burstein spent the 2019 soccer season as the men’s and women’s assistant coach at NCAA Division II school Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. He worked primarily with the women’s goalkeepers, and helped improve the team from a 2-15 record to a 5-11 record and a decreased goals against from 52 to 34. He also coached two players from each program that received All-RMAC honors.
Burstein originally joined the University of Providence men’s soccer program as an assistant coach in the spring of 2018. Burstein served as the goalkeeper coach as well as helping with team training, recruitment and administrative duties.
In addition to his position with UP, Burstein worked with Montana Rush as Head Coach for the U15 Girls and U19 Boys, and also coaches for the Montana ODP program. He led his U19 Boys team to the 2018 State Cup title.
Prior to his arrival in Great Falls, Burstein was a staff coach on the girls’ side at St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club from 2014-2018. He was also part of the club’s goalkeeping staff, working with the Elite level goalkeepers, among other age groups. While in St. Louis, Burstein was also coaching high school soccer with stops at Whitfield HS in 2017 and MICDS from 2013-16. He helped lead the MICDS boys’ team to back to back conference championships, as well as assisting the girls to the first District Championship in program history in 2015.
