Argos Clinch Playoff Spot with Bisbo Goal in OT

ASHLAND, Ore. – Luis Torres' flair for the dramatic continued against Southern Oregon University, but it was Christoffer Bisbo who scored the overtime game winner for a 2-1 win that clinched the Argo's place in the CCC playoffs.

Despite once again dominating the pace of play, UGF found itself down 1-0 with ten minutes left to play. Finally, in the 84th minute one of the team's 22 shots in regulation found the mark and true to form it was senior Luis Torres. The goal came off a rebound from an Anthony Mota shot.

UGF maintained control of the game in overtime, outshooting the Raiders 7-2 in extra time. Senior midfielder Anderson Cardoso took a throw-in in the 108th minute that dropped to the feat of Bisbo inside the opponent's box. The sophomore controlled the ball, turned and beat the Raider keeper to give UGF a playoff clinching three points.

The Argo defense faired admirably, outside of allowing the one goal, holding SOU to eight shots, and only two on net.

The win brings the team's record to 9-5 (7-3). They'll continue conference play with a neutral site game against the College of Idaho in Hermiston, Oregon on October 26 at 1 p.m.
