LA GRANDE, Ore. – Alejandra Guzman scored her second goal of the season while the Lady Argo defense posted a first half shutout in the team's 3-1 loss to Eastern Oregon University.
The first half was largely controlled by the EOU Lady Mountaineers but the Great Falls defense, and goalkeeper Kyra Dorvall, kept a clean sheet. Dorvall finished the first 45 minutes with three saves while the UGF offense was able to get off two shots while trying to work the counterattack.
EOU broke through in the fifty-third minute and added two more goals in the second half to take a 3-0 lead. In the eighty-sixth minute the Argos struck back with Guzman, a sophomore midfielder, breaking through to find the back of the net.
The loss brings UGF to 3-2-1 (1-2) on the year with a chance to pull even in their Cascade Collegiate Conference record with a road match against Warner Pacific College on September 26 at 11 pm.
