Madison Wilhelm put on a show for UGF volleyball's senior day match against Lewis-Clark State College. The outside hitter had 23 kills, 12 digs, and a hitting percentage of 0.588 to lead the Lady Argos to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 31-29) win in the team's final regular season match.
Wilhelm accounted for 26.5 of UGF's 65 total points, and earned her 13th double-double in kills and digs of the season.Â
UGF dominated the first two sets, particularly during a massive run in the middle of the 2nd set on
Olivia Snead's serve. Snead scored 9 straight points for the Lady Argos, including back-to-back aces, which put UGF up 17-5. The Lady Argos finished off the set on a 4-0 run, winning the set 25-13.
The third set got competitive in a hurry, with LC State taking and holding a lead of as many as 6 points. The Lady Argos took their first lead of the set at 24-23. The two teams then exchanged points till UGF finally got the win at 31-29.
For the Argos:
- Wilhelm had her 13th double double of the season.
- Senior setter Bree Davis posted 20 of her 44 assists in the third set.
- Mariah Diaz had the team's best hitting percentage, with a 0.667 for the match.
- The Lady Argos hit at least .300 every set, but LCSC's hitting percentage was over .300 only in the first set.
For the Warriors:
- Justine Cota's 0.833 hitting percentage was a game high.
- Rachel Gregg led the Warriors with 11 kills, and added 5 digs.
- Two LC State players posted double-digit assists, Amber Hillestad with 17 and Shaelyn Pearson with 13.
Notes:
- The win gives UGF a .500 record to end the regular season at 13-13 (6-6) and guarantees the team will finish no lower than T-4th in the final Frontier Conference standings.Â
