Lady Argos to Play Lewis-Clark State College in Frontier Championship

LEWISTON, Idaho – History will be made for UGF athletics on Tuesday, March 8 as Lady Argo basketball will play in its first Frontier Conference Finals since 1985 and for the first time since the restart of athletics at the university. The (21) Lady Argos will face off against (14) Lewis-Clark State College at 8 p.m. MST in the Warriors gyms.

LC State holds the head-to-head edge, defeating UGF two of the three times the teams have played, but all three of the contests were decided by single digits and the Lady Argos won their most recent battle, 71-62.

The Warriors (75.5 ppg) and Lady Argos (69.5 ppg) are the two highest scoring teams in the Frontier Conference with LC State holding the statistical advantage in scoring defense (56 ppg to UGF's 62.6) while UGF has been the better rebounding team, averaging 39.5 rpg while LC averages 36.7.

A strong home court advantage goes to Lewis-Clark State. The Warriors have lost just one game inside the Activity Center and the school's men's basketball team won the Frontier Conference title there the night before the women's final will be played.

If the Lady Argo's win it will not only be the program's first Frontier Conference Championship since 1985, it will also be the school's first conference championship since that year.
