GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The season opener didn't go as planned for the University of Great Falls women's soccer team, losing to the University of Calgary 7-0. The Lady Argos lost team captain
Serafina Robles midway through the first half, compounding the team's already hefty list of preseason injuries.
UGF was already without 2015's leading scorer,
Alejandra Guzman, and starting center back
Sandralee DeVille. Those injuries left back line with two new starters, and an offense with two players in their first season with team. That inexperience showed early, particularly with the defense's efforts to deal with the Dino's speed.

Calgary's speedy forward Natalie Arnett scored two goals down the left line in the first 20 minutes of the first half to set the tone for the rest of the game.
Freshman forward
Eme McLaughlin showed promising ability while adjusting to the college game, tying for the team lead with 2 shots and 1 shot on goal. The only other UGF player with a shot on goal was Robles.
Redshirt freshman
Breanna Keller came on to make some nice runs for the Lady Argos, including being at the right place at the right time on a promising cross from McLaughlin but wasn't able to get the ball on net.
Starting goalkeeper
Kyra Dorvall put in a valiant effort in net amid an onslaught of pressure, totaling 13 saves in 81 minutes of play.
The Lady Argos will look to rest, heal, and recover before their next contest, a road non-conference game against conference foe Carroll College on September 5 at Noon.
