KIRKLAND, Wash. – Argo men's soccer clinched their playoff spot as they wrapped their final road trip of the regular season, netting two second-period goals to down the Northwest Eagles on Saturday afternoon, 2-1.
The Eagles broke the standstill to tally the first goal of the game on their second shot in the 26
th minute.
Northwest held the advantage headed into the break, 1-0.
Fernando Gutierrez tied things up for the Argos in the 72
nd minute as he netted a free kick from 25 yards out, 1-1.
The Argos took their first lead of the match as Gutierrez beat a defender down the left side to net the Argos game-winner in the 80
th minute, 2-1.
Gutierrez led the Argos with five shots, three on target, and netting the Argos two goals in the win.
Luis Macias committed three shots, while
Gudmundur Gudmundsson attempted two shots with both on target.
The Argos led in all statistical categories, outscoring the Eagles, 16-15, garnering five saves, and three corner kicks.

The Argos will return home to take on the Southern Oregon Raiders on October 26 before playing the Oregon Tech Owls on October 27, which is senior day.
