KIRKLAND, Wash. – No. T-18 women's basketball dominated Northwest University to earn their third win of the season, 70-49.
Jenna Randich led the Argos offensively with a game-high 16 points, while
Parker Esary followed closely behind scoring 15 points. Esary garnered her second double-double of the season as she collected 12 rebounds, in addition to an assist and a steal.
The Eagles took an early lead as they outscored the Argos 7-4 to open the game. A three from
Kenedy Cartwright tied up the match before the Argos grabbed a 10-7 lead. The Eagles would respond to tie the game once again at 12 all, but the Argos responded to eventually close out the opening period with a four-point advantage, 18-14.
Northwest tied up the game at 18 following a layup, before taking the lead with another layup. Esary responded with a layup of her own to put at 20-20. Esary's layup sparked a dominant performance from the Argos to take their first double-digit lead of the game at 37-25, before an Eagles' layup would close out the half with the Argos leading by 10.
The Argos maintained their momentum into the second half as they outscored the Eagles 12-2 to push their lead to 20 halfway through the third, 49-29. The Argos would eventually push the lead to their largest of the game, 55-34, but the Eagles scored five unanswered points to close the third and bring the deficit down to 16, 55-39.
The Eagles just couldn't find an answer in the final period to close the gap with the Argos as they would tack their five points back and maintain a solid lead to seal the 21-point win, 77-49.
The Argos return home on November 6 to host Yellowstone Christian College at 6 p.m.
