Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – No. 5 seeded Argo men's soccer (7-7-3, 6-4-3) dropped their quarterfinal matchup in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament against the No. 4 seeded Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (11-3-4, 8-2-3), 2-0, on Wednesday evening.
The Argos just couldn't get anything to fall as the Mountaineers' two-goal opening period advanced them to the semifinal match of the CCC tournament.
Eastern Oregon notched their first goal of the game in the 25
th period as Carlos Solorio beat
Marc Girones in a one on one to put the Mountaineers on the board first, 1-0.
The Mountaineers added insurance in the 33
rd minute as Josh Goodman delivered a corner kick that Jack Rose netted from 10-yards out to push the Mountaineers advantage to two, 2-0.
The Mountaineers led each period in shots,13-11, garnering one more than the Argos in each, three in the first and eight in the second.
Adrian Gomez led with four shots, one of which was on goal, followed by
George Holloway who committed three shots with one on target. The Argos held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-4.
The Argos finish their 2018 campaign with a 7-7-3 record.
