Men's Soccer Wins Second-Straight as they Down the Beacons, 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Argo men's soccer tallied their second-straight as they claimed a 1-0 win over the Northwest Christian Beacons on Friday.
 
The first half was pretty quiet as both teams headed into the locker room with no goals scored. The Argos led in shots during the opening period, 7-3.
 
The Argos came out of the break ready to play as freshman Gudmundur Gudmundsson handled a ball to senior Luis Macias who netted the game-winner, which was a 10-foot strike just past the keeper in the 50th minute.
 
Providence continued to lead in shots during the second period, 7-5. The Argos also garnered three corner kicks during the final 45 minutes.
 
Up Next
The Argos will play their second match of the weekend tomorrow as they take on the Corban Warriors at 4:30 p.m.
