GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer team bounced back from their loss last weekend to the Corban Warriors with a 5-0 rout of Warner Pacific University on Friday afternoon.
The Argos outshot the Knights by a massive margin of 25-7 to earn their fifth win of the season. The shutout was the Argos second on the season.
It didn't take long for the Argos to take the lead as Sarah passed a long ball to
Kate Sisler who chipped the ball over the goalie to put the Argos up in the 3
rd minute.
Eme McLaughlin tallied her first goal of the day in the 19
th minute as
Soraya Alfaro passed the ball down the line to McLaughlin who dribbled into the box and scored near the far post to give the Argos some insurance, 2-0.
In the 27
th minute,
Jenni Qualm sent a cross into the box and McLaughlin shot from inside the 18 to push the Argos' lead to three, 3-0.
McLaughlin tallied her third and fourth goals of the contest in the 31
st and 33
rd minutes. She tallied her third goal with a shot to the far post to give the Argos a 4-0 lead, and then collected a ball from Sisler on the far-right wing to score from six-yards out to give the Argos a dominant 5-0 lead going into the break.
The final 45 minutes were quiet for both squads, but the Argos continued to outscore the Knights in the second half, 9-6. The Argos led in corner kicks as well with six to the Knights four.
