Butte, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball team avenged an earlier loss against Montana Tech, defeating the Orediggers in four sets (28-26, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19).
The Argos averaged a .243 hitting percentage for the night in a matchup that featured two top 20 ranked teams.
"We came out ready to play today," head coach
Arunas Duda said. "Our passing and defense was great early and we were able to slow Tech down at the net. It was great to see us overcome some adversity in the match and finish."
Kelsey Shaver led the Argos with 26 kills.
Tyna William contributed 11 while
Ember Schwindt added nine.
Averi Dyer led the team with 29 kills, followed by
Cydney Finberg-Roberts with 17. Finberg-Roberts also dropped 49 assists.
The Argos move to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in the Frontier Conference. They'll have a bit of break, with their next game taking place at home against Lewis and Clark College on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.
