Argos Complete 20 Point Comeback

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - After falling behind by 20 points in the first-half, the University of Providence men's basketball team completed an incredible comeback to defeat Dickinson State in a thrilling game in Great Falls.

"It's a great win," head coach Steve Keller said. "We found a way to win and that's what good teams do. It was a struggle all night long. I've coached a lot of games, I don't many games that we were down 20 and comeback and won it."

Zaccheus Darko-Kelly scored 32 points, 26 of which came in the second-half, had six assists and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Argos to victory. Brandon Cotton scored 16 points, dished three dimes and had three rebounds. Jaxen Hashley also dropped 16 points, including 3/4 from beyond the arc. Joel Thabize dropped 10 points and grabbed five boards.

The Argos withstood a ferocious start by the Bluehawks, who netted 13 three pointers in the first half. The Argos switched out of their 2-3 zone in favor of man defense, which helped hold Dickinson State to a 4/14 performance from beyond the arc in the second half.

"When you go 13/24 from 3 in a half, you're lucky to even be in the game," Keller said. "At half we talked about winning the first five minutes. We did that. They kept answering and getting us down nine again. It was a great win because we probably didn't deserve to win that game, but our guys found a way to win. That shows character and the mark of a good team."

The Argos will have to rebound quickly, as they have another tough test tomorrow. They'll face Northwest tomorrow at 6 p.m., who lost to Montana State - Northern 70-65 earlier in the day. Keller hopes his team will get off to a quicker start.

"We've been struggling to start the game," he said. "We have to come out ready to play. We have a very tough game tomorrow night. They're a very good basketball team."
