DILLON, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball team fell to Montana Western 73-60 Saturday night.
The Argos turned the ball over 22 times during the loss. They were also outrebounded 35-31.
"I didn't have the team prepared tonight," head coach
Bill Himmelberg said. "We weren't ready to go. We got outrebounded by a team that was smaller than us. I need to do a better job preparing the team for that."
Kenedy Cartwright and
Emilee Maldonado led the Argos with 17 points.
Parker Esary also had 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Mesa King who scored 15. Savanna Bignell scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Shannon Worster scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists.
"We just weren't focused," Himmelberg said. "I don't think we had the team ready to go. Western played good and they did a good job. They out toughed us and outplayed us and I need to do a better job preparing the girls."
The Argos will next take the court in the Phoenix Frontier Classic in Arizona. They'll face off against Bethel University at 12 p.m. on Dec. 18.
