HAVRE, Mont. – A huge second-half propelled the MSU-Northern Skylights to a 62-56 victory over the No. 22 Argos on Wednesday at the Armory Gymnasium.
The Argos fall to 16-9 on the season, 5-8 in Frontier Conference play while the Skylights improved to 11-14 and 3-10 conference play.
Emilee Maldonado was a weapon for the Argos, leading all scorers with 27 points.
Parker Esary dominated the post for the Argos as she narrowly missed her career-high boards with 17, while also joining Maldonado in double-digits with 11 points.
Sabin Keo scored a team-high 16 points, while Peyton Kehr and Tiara Gilham joined her in double-digits with 14 and 13 points apiece. Allix Goldhahn pulled down seven boards in the win.
The Argos held a 17-10 advantage after the first 10 minutes before extending their lead to double-digits to send things into the half up 31-21.
The Skylights slowly chipped away at the Argos lead as they cut it in half following the third period, 47-42.
The Skylights had a huge fourth-quarter as they outscored the Argos 20-9 to seal the six-point upset.
