Helena, Mont. – The University of Providence picked up two wins this week, both on the road. After getting the win in Havre Wednesday night, against MSUN Skylights, UP Volleyball team headed to Helena to sweep the Saints in three games, 26-24, 25-14, 25-20. "It was a team effort," said Head Coach
Arunas Duda.
When breaking down the stats, Argos where led by
Renae Davis with 10 kills, followed by
Jensyn Turner and
Ember Schwindt both with 8 kills. Not far behind was
Kelsey Shaver with 7 and
Sacha Legros and
Tyna William with 6 each. This team effort gives the Argos an impressive 13-2 overall record.
Ember Schwindt, in a post-game interview, talked about the match Friday night. "It's always a really big game, a must win for us. We always want to beat this team. It's always our rival game so we were ready to play this evening." Play they did, game one was a sluggish start for the Argos, but once coach called a time out the team came back on the floor and ended the night with an impressive shut out.
The Argos will hit the courts again Thursday night October 4, 2019, where they invite you to come join in
Hawaiian Night. Argos and the Battling Bears, from Rocky Mountain College, will start their conference match up at 7 PM, so come early and wear your best Hawaiian gear.
