Great Falls, Mont. - The Nationally-ranked University of Providence volleyball team showed some strength this weekend going undefeated in the UP-Fall Classic. After the Argos defeated Benedictine Friday night, they dominated Medicine Hat Saturday afternoon 25-12, 25-17 and 26-24.
Tyna Williams had an outstanding afternoon with 10 kills and a .500 percentage in attacks. She finished the match with 3 defensive digs and 5 net blocks. Williams credits her performance to her setters for all the kills in the contest. "The setters did an amazing job, it's so great being on the court with them," she said.
Head coach Aruna Duda really likes how his team is performing early in this season as they prepare to get into Frontier Conference play. Duda said he felt they were one dimensional on Friday, but thought the team that played Saturday afternoon responded well, as many of his players saw some court time.
UP Volleyball will have some time to prepare for their first conference match up as they will be at home against Montana Tech on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
