Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

#8 Argos Fall to #12 Warriors

LEWISTON, Ida. – The #8 University of Providence men's basketball team suffered their second loss of the season to #12 Lewis-Clark State Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors got off to a quick start and never looked back, taking a 52-35 lead into the half. The Argos played a much better second half, but the first half lead was too much to overcome, losing 90-71.

"They just came out and got hot from three right from the tip," head coach Steve Keller said. "We didn't get off to a very good start. They're good and played well. There's no excuses. They deserved to win. They were the better team tonight."

Josiah Westbrook led the Warriors with 25 points and 4 rebounds. Hodges Bailey added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Zaccheus Darko-Kelly led the Argos with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Joel Thabize added 12 points and Rashee Stocks contributed 10.

"We didn't guard them very well tonight," Keller said. "They had a couple guys that really played well. They're a solid team. They got some size, they're athletic and they can shoot. We found out what one of the top teams in the league is like. We're still 16-2, we just have to learn from this game."

The Argos will travel to Havre on Thursday to take on Montana State Northern at 8 p.m. They'll return to the McLaughlin Center Saturday night against #9 Carroll.
