Esary Named Conference Player of the Week

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Frontier Conference announced Monday that Parker Esary of the University of Providence women's basketball team was awarded the Frontier Conference Player of the Week.

Esary had a dominant week. Against Rocky Mountain College, she scored 15 points and grabbed 5 boards. In an upset win over the top team in the league, Montana Western, Esary posted 24 points and 12 rebounds on a perfect 11/11 performance from the field. On the weekend, she finished shooting 17/18 from the field, scoring 39 points and 17 rebounds.

"I'm really pleased with how she came out with energy and effort," head coach Bill Himmelberg. "She was just so determined to get a win. She does so many good things for off both on and off the court. She embraced the leadership role and got us all doing what we needed to do."

As of Feb. 10, Esary leads the nation in field goal percentage at 66%. She ranks 3rd in the Frontier Conference in scoring (15.2 ppg) and 4th in rebounding (8.0 rpg).

"It's something special to go from 11/11 field and lead us to a really big victory for our team," Himmelberg said. "She's one of the top players in the country with finishing inside. Its nice to have that go to player to go get a bucket when we need it."

The Argos will travel to Lewiston, Idaho on Thursday to take on Lewis-Clark State at 6:30 p.m.
