GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball team received votes in the
latest NAIA National Poll that was released Wednesday morning.
The Argos (2-2, 2-2) were ranked 25
th in the previous installment of the ranking. Since then the Argos have gone 2-2, splitting games with both Montana Tech and #7 Carroll.
"It's what we expected," head coach
Bill Himmelberg said. "You lose two games and you're probably going to fall in the poll a little bit. We beat Carroll this weekend which is a big win. Anytime you can beat a ranked team, that's good."
Himmelberg is proud of how his team has played in the four games so far this year, especially considering the team has only been practicing since mid-December.
"We still have our best basketball to play," he said. "There's no question about that. We're getting better at practice. I thought we got better exponentially over the four games and got in better game shape."
The Argos scheduled games this weekend against Rocky Mountain College have been
canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. The Argos next game is scheduled for Weds. Jan. 20 against Montana State-Northern in Havre, Mont.
