GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Three members of the University of Providence cross country team finished in the Top 5 at the Providence Open Friday at Anaconda Hills.
On the men's side,
Nash Grafe finished fourth overall with a time of 29:34.2, with
Ciaran Molloy finishing behind him at fifth at 29:44.9.
"Nash and Ciaran were great today," head coach
Tony Arntson said. "They competed hard. I'm proud of how they did on a really tough course today."
Doreen Koech led the Argo women's team, finishing in fifth place with a mark of 22:59.4.
Grace Alexander finished in eight place (25:48.9),
Angie Sletten finished in 9
th (29:01.3) while
Natalie Montenegro finished 10
th (33:16.2).
"I'm proud of all the girls," Arntson said. "Doreen especially competed really well. It was a good effort today."
The Argos will compete again next Friday at the Yellowjacket Open in Billings, Mont. The men's race will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the women's race beginning at 11:45 a.m.
"Next weekend is a big one," Arntson said. "There are going to be a lot of conference teams there so we'll really know how we stack up."
