LEWISTON, Idaho – The University of Providence men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Friday. The Argos (2-1) lost to #20 Lewis-Clark State (4-0) 105-92 in the first game of the Clearwater River Casino & Lodge Classic.
The Warriors raced out to a lead in the first-half, getting up by as much as 18 before the Argos cut the lead to 14 heading into the break. The Argos managed to cut the lead to as close as seven in the second-half, but the Warriors managed to pull away to secure the 13-point victory.
Rashee Stocks recorded his first career double-double in the loss, scoring 22 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Marcus Stephens also played well, recording 19 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Rasheed Butler netted five three-pointers, ending with a career-high 15 points.
Dawson Fowler ended the game with 12 points and five rebounds while
Emmett Linton III finished with 11 points.
The Argos will have to put this one behind them quickly. They'll take on Corban in the final game of the tournament on Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. MTN.
