GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence strength and conditioning department announced that
Brittany Burman and
Jake Olsen have been named the November Student-Athletes of the Month.
Burman, a junior midfielder from Missoula, Mont., has been a work horse in the weight room since the Argo women's soccer season ended nearly a month ago.
"Brittany's transformation in the weight room has been incredible to be a part of," strength and conditioning coach
Will Seevers said. "She used to be very timid and shy when it came to training but her attitude and approach to strength and conditioning has undergone a complete 360. She is now a vocal leader that pushes her teammates to work harder and be better in all aspects of life. Britney has really stepped up and is a major component of the competitive team culture within the weight room."
Olsen, a sophomore post from Great Falls, Montana, is currently starting for the Argo men's basketball team. He is currently averaging 8.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the squad.
"Jake is a hometown kid, so he has a great sense of pride in the University and the community of Great Falls," Seevers said. "This carries over to the weight room where he is an absolute workhorse. He is always prepared, energized, and ready to go. He is well-respected by his teammates and is someone that others look up to. His work ethic is motivating and inspiring to everyone in the room.
The Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Month is awarded by the strength and conditioning staff to an athlete who embodies the three core values of the the Argo Strength and Conditioning Philosophy: strength of discipline, strength of spirit and strength of unity.
