GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball team is receiving votes in the latest iteration
of the NAIA National Poll that was released on Wednesday.
"We're happy we're receiving votes," head coach
Bill Himmelberg said. "We're still there. We have to beat ranked teams if we want to move up and we just haven't had the opportunity to play ranked teams yet. We have some coming up and when those come up we have to take advantage and make sure we're taking care of our business."
The Argos (9-2) are one of three Frontier Conference teams that are receiving votes in the new poll. Carroll College is currently ranked 5
th, while Montana Western is ranked 24
th.
The ranking comes out a day before the Argos are scheduled to begin Frontier Conference play. The team will host Rocky Mountain College at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday before traveling to Havre to take on MSU-Northern on Saturday. That game will tip off at 2:00 p.m.
"We're excited," Himmelberg said. "We're ready to go and ready to get back on the court. Hopefully the girls are ready to go too."
