Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – In a critical matchup between the top two seeds in the Frontier Conference, the #20 University of Providence volleyball team defeated #17 Rocky Mountain 25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 25-20 Friday evening. 

"We set a tone pretty early," head coach Arunas Duda said. "In the first two sets, the first 10, 15 points were pretty even. Our girls made a little bit of a run at the end of both of them. They held on to that confidence and that lead for a little while."

The Argos played solidly defensively, led by libero Sacha Legros. She was all over the court making plays, so much so that the Battlin' Bears hit away from her as much as possible, creating easy offensive opportunities. She recorded 24 digs, which puts her over 1,000 digs in her Argo career. 

"Sacha was great as always," Duda said. "We just were able to side out really effectively. Whenever they did put the ball away we were able to side out right away so they couldn't go on any runs. They did what we did and tried to hit away from their libero."

Jensyn Turner led the Argos with 19 kills on an astounding .358 hitting percentage. Ember Schwindt was also super efficient, recording 15 kills on a .412 hitting percentage. Sadie Lott recorded 11 kills. Five-time setter Cydney Finberg-Roberts recorded 50 assists. 

"She just did a fantastic job of finding the court and just burying the ball," Duda said. "She was hitting with a lot of velocity tonight and did a nice job there. Ember came up with some key blocks and some key plays and played really well."

Weiyeng Wang led the Battlin' Bears with 14 kills. Natalie Hilderman led the Battlin' Bears with 46 assists while Ayla Embry recorded 26 digs.

The two teams will face off again tomorrow at 6 p.m., instead of the usual 1 p.m.

"The break tomorrow will help us," Duda said. "A weekend sweep would be huge for us. They're going to be fired up and ready to go so we have to be ready to match that."
