Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – In another thrilling five-set match, the University of Providence women's volleyball team defeated Carroll, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 15-8.
After dropping the first set, the Argos made some adjustments and took the next two. They couldn't close it out in the fourth set, but the Argos took full control in the 5
th set to secure the victory.
"I thought we blocked a lot better than we have in the past," head coach
Arunas Duda said. "We made a few adjustments. I thought we played better right back defense than we have in awhile. Our attackers lit it up as well. It was a good night."
As a team, the Argos recorded 65 kills compared to the Saints 46.
Isaura Santos led the way for the Argos with a season-high 22 kills, and was active defensively, recording 14 digs. Cyndey Finberg-Roberts was her usual self, recording 50 assists on the evening.
Sacha Legros was everywhere defensively, recording 40 digs.
"Isa really emerged tonight," head coach
Arunas Duda said. "She took some great swings for us. She recorded a season-high 22 kills and that's not unexpected."
The Fighting Saints were led offensively by Taelyr Krantz and Lexi Mikkelson, who recorded 14 kills and 11 kills respectively. Defensively, five players recorded double-digit digs, led by Julia Carr's 26.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow at 1 p.m.
