WHITEFISH, Mont. – For the fourth week in a row freshman Sadie Lott has been named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week. This week also marks the sixth time that Lott has received the award this season.
In a pair of three-set sweeps over Montana Western, Lott was all over the floor. On Thursday's win, Lott recorded a double-double with 18 kills, on an outstanding. 500 hitting percentage, and 10 digs. She also contributed four blocks and two service aces, paving the way for the Argos to clinch their first outright regular season conference championship in program history. On Friday, she recorded another double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs on a .367 hitting percentage. She also added three blocks.
"She just was all over the court for us this weekend," head coach Arunas Duda said. "She's so efficient hitting the ball. She was really close to leading us in digs as well. She just plays so well on the court. When it comes to crunch time she never wavers. She's the one that's even more confident down the stretch. I'm excited to see what she can do for us in the postseason."
With the regular season wrapping up, the Argos (18-2, 18-2) have received a total of 19 Player of the Week Awards out of the available 30 on the year. The team is super balanced, with five different players receiving conference recognition. Cydney Finberg-Roberts has won seven Setter of the Week awards, Lott has won six Attacker of the Week awards, Sacha Legros has won four Defender of the Week awards, and Renae Davis and Isaura Santos both have received an Attack of the Week award.
"In a year like this, it just shows the true character of the kids," head coach Arunas Duda said. "Even through all the adversity and all the craziness, we have a great group of kids that really battle through a lot of things this year. They've been able to step up to the challenge. I couldn't be more proud of their effort and how they've reacted to things."
By winning the regular season, the Argos have clinched home-court advantage for the entirety of the Frontier Conference Playoffs. As the #1 seed, the team will play the lowest remaining seed of the two winners of the first round games on Tuesday. The Argos will host that semifinal game on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
