BILLINGS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer team fell to the University of Jamestown 6-0 in their final non-conference game of the season.
The Jimmies (4-0) wasted no time getting started, scoring a goal in the third minute. The Jimmies added two more goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead at the break. Things didn't get any better in the second half, as the Jimmies scored three more goals to end the game 6-0.
"We knew it was going to be a challenging weekend," head coach
Heather Blandford said. "In order for us to grow and improve as a team, we have to put ourselves in these competitive games. It was tough, but at the same time there was a lot of opportunity for learning and growth. If we focus on those things and continue to get better every single day, there are opportunities to learn and for us to improve because of these games."
Justine Humphry got the start for the Argos (0-3), recording eight saves on the day. Offensively, the Argos took two shots on the day, from
Violet Johnson and
Taylor Ward. The Argos also mustered two corner kicks on the day.
This game concludes the non-conference schedule for the squad. The Argos will begin conference play next Saturday, with a home game against Rocky Mountain College at 3:30 p.m. at Argo Field.
"We'll look at the film and break it down," Blandford said. "There are things that we are doing pretty well. There are moments that we look good and are building on those things and building confidence in those areas. We'll focus on those areas that we need to improve. We'll get ourselves dialed in so that we're ready to go for conference."
