Butte, Mont. - The second half of the Frontier Conference volleyball season began much like the first half with the University of Providence battling, but falling 3-1 to Montana Tech. The Orediggers took the match 25-17, 27-25, 18-25, 25-21 Saturday night in the Mining City. Montana Tech jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first set and led 24-13 before the Argos fought off four set points before an error pushed the Diggers to the 25 points needed. In the second set, it was Tech fighting off a set point, winning three straight points to get the victory. Set three saw Providence race out to an 11-2 lead in taking the set and led 8-4 in the fourth before the Orediggers scored seven of the next 11 points to take the lead. The Argos would tie things up at 20 all before losing four of the last five points and the match.

Zoe Naugle picked up where she left off before the bye week with 12 kills also adding eight blocks. Adysen Burns added 12 kills, 14 digs. Leading the way for Providence with 17 digs was Taylor Christensen with Bella Thompson putting up 42 assists. Tech was led by the duo of Maureen Jessop and Olivia Muir, each had 18 kills. Providence totaled 46 kills, but 30 errors was too much to overcome. The Argos fall to 7-17 overall, 0-6 in the Frontier while 18th ranked Tech runs its win streak to 11 straight and moves to 21-6 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in league play.

Providence returns home next week hosting MSU-Northern Wednesday and Montana Western Friday.
