Great Falls, Mont. - Wednesday kicks off the start of a busy week at the University of Providence as Argo volleyball hosts MSU-Northern in Frontier Conference play. Providence is looking for its first conference win of the season after falling at Montana Tech 3-1 Saturday. The Argos and Skylights are meeting for the third time this season, each having won a match apiece. Providence won in four games in non-conference action in Billings, while the Skylights got the 3-1 win in Frontier play in Havre on September 28th. In that match, Alyssa Pretty Weasel had 13 kills for the Skylights with Jessalyn Chvilicek adding 12. Providence was led by Jenna Thorne who had 10 kills and 22 digs. That was also the emergence of Zoe Naugle who had eight kills but has been averaging 11.25 kills and over four blocks per match since then, including a 12 kill, 8 block effort at Tech Saturday.
Head Coach Arunas Duda likes the way Naugle has been performing as of late, and likes the trajectory of the Argos, "I was pleased with the way we competed last Saturday, and I am optimistic that we are headed in the right direction. If we continue to work hard on limiting our errors and closing out sets, we have the opportunity to have a great week. I am incredibly pleased with the play of Zoe who has asserted herself these last couple of weeks as a force at the net. Our captains have also done a fabulous job of leading this group in the right direction lately."
The match will start at 7 PM Wednesday and can be viewed online at www.upargos.com.
