Great Falls, Mont. - Jake Olsen scored 18 points on 8-9 shooting and the University of Providence men cruised to an 89-45 win over Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Saturday night at the McLaughlin Center. The Argos finished the game shooting 47.9% from the field improving to 2-0 on the young season.
Sam Vining (13), Kenny Curtis (12), and Eric Milner (11) all scored in double figures while Drayton Caiole grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Milner led the way with seven assists as the Argos once again shared the ball with a total of 23 helpers. Providence's defense held SAIT to just 27.9% from the floor while forcing 20 turnovers leading to 21 Argo points. It was another good effort on both sides of the ball according to Head Coach Steve Keller, "I thought we played well. 23 assists, we shared the basketball. Our guards got in there and made great passes to Jake. That's a career game for Jake. We are just making that extra pass and sharing the ball and defensively, we're not bad."
Kuol Kuol led SAIT with 18 points and eight rebounds. SAIT plays at Carroll College Sunday afternoon while Providence next plays at Lewiston, Idaho against Walla Walla (Wash.) and Lewis-Clark State in two weeks.
